Affordable Permaculture Courses
On-site, all included 3-5 day courses at affordable costs.
Our project is 15 years old and is a functioning, productive permaculture food forest in southern Spain.
Our courses will provide you with the knowledge you need to begin your own Permaculture Project
Our goal as an association is to make Permaculture available to everyone. We offer these courses, under cost, in order to reach and inspire you in your journey towards abundance, it is our gift to society.
Our courses will give you time saving insights you need, to avoid the most common errors made by designers and project managers.
We charge only 250€ per person for these courses.
This includes accommodations (see below), vegetarian meals and the program. There are no extra fees, but you will have to provide your own transport.

Course Overview
After this course you will understand the basics of permaculture:
-Why we are working towards integrating ourselves and culture into the biosphere through holistic design,
-How to use observation and science towards an ecological goal,
-What the fundamental principals in Permaculture and Permaculture design are, and
-How to compose a design for any site.
This core structure is demonstrated using the real-life content of Holistic design
-Plants species and their uses,
-WATER
-Functioning Permaculture Systems and Elements, and
-Climatic strategies.
Details
Three days and two nights on our permaculture farm in Málaga, Spain. We use group dynamics and hands-on practicals to complement lecture-style tutorials. Included in this course is a guided tour through our holdings with detailed explainations of the systems and designs.

Accommodations
We have sleeping quarters for up to 10 people, we reserve these for families and persons with physical limitations. Other wise you may have to bring a tent.
Food
Food is vegetarian and primarily sourced from our own farm or from local farms.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Bosque Humano mean?
Bosque Humano is Spanish for human forest. The idea is that humans can live in their food, participating beneficially in an ecology. The development model for our project is based on the patterns found in a forest.
What is Permaculture?
Permaculture is the integration of humans into the biosphere through the application of a holistic design process focused on human settlements and the re-orientation of human activity.
How big is Bosque Humano?
Presently BosqueHumano occupies 20,000 square meters. Additionally we are co-founders of a province-wide network composed of hundreds of individuals and projects.
Do you operate all year round?
Yes our micro-climate permits year-round outdoor living. We reach 5ºC in winter and above 30ºC in summer.
What should I pack?
Depending on the time of year and what you are accustomed to you should pack for Malaga weather. In winter you will need a coat and boots, long pants and rain gear (if we are lucky). In summertime you can wear almost nothing.
We provide everything for your stay, so you just need to pack your clothes, a lantern, and sunscreen.
Are there mosquitoes?
Yes, while not overwhelming they are common from May until October. Our recommendation is to pack some lightweight linen or cotton pants and long-sleeve shirts for the evenings. All of our accommodations are protected with screens and the beds may be complemented with mosquito netting if need be.
Are there any dangerous animals in your area?
No. In the mountains you may encounter wild-boar, or vipers, but on our farm these animals are not present. Don’t worry about the chickens.
Are there places to visit while we are there?
We are 30 minutes from the sea and many guests will make a day trip to enjoy the sand and salty water.
Through our town run 7 different rivers. There are several nice secluded swimming holes. One of these swimming holes is called Barranco Blanco, which is a natural wonder of geology and a recommended hike itinerary.
We are located 30 minutes from the city of Málaga and 30 minutes from the famous coastal town of Marbella.
